Man Docked For Alleged Stealing
A middle aged man
has been arraigned before a Port Harcourt Chief Magistrate presided by Ipalibo F. Iyiabo for an alleged stealing and conspiracy with charge sheet No PMC/1071/C/2013.
The accused, Godwin Emmanuel 26, is standing trial on two court charge of conspiracy and stealing before Chief Magistrate I.F. Iyiabo.
The police prosecutor, Inspector Wilson Isaiah alleged that the accused, Godwin Emmanuel, M. and others now at large between 9th October, 2012 and 30th March, 2013 respectively at Port Albert Investment Ltd Artillary Junction, Port Harcourt Magisterial District did conspired among themselves to commit felony to wit stealing.
The prosecuting police officer further alleged that the accused and others now at large on the same date and place in the afore said magisterial district did steal the sum of two million, twenty eight thousand naira (N2,28,000.00) only belonging to Fort Albert Investment Ltd.
He averred that the accused person committed an offence punishable under section 519A and 390 of the criminal code cap 37 vol.11 laws of Rivers State of Nigeria 1999.
In his ruling, the presiding chief magistrate, I.F. Iyiabo after listening to the bail application by the defence counsel admitted bail to the accused person to N1m with one surety in like sum. The surety must be a civil servant and not below level 14 and should swear affidavit of means, with 4 passport which must be verify by the court prosecutor.
The case was later adjourned to 28/2/2014.
