Libya Happy To Meet Ghana In Final
Coach Clement Javier of Libya is relishing meeting Ghana tomorrow in the final of the third Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) in South Africa.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria had lost 1-3 on penalties to the Black Stars of Ghana at the second semi final match on Wednesday.
Javier had declared at a post match interview on Wednesday that his dream was to meet Ghana at the final of the competition.
Libya had subdued Zimbabwe 5-4 on penalties in the first semifinals of the competition played at Free Town Stadium, Bloemfontein, South Africa, after 0-0 in regulation time.
The coach said that although, Nigeria and Ghana’s style of play were the same, Nigeria was more technical than Ghana.
“I prefer meeting Ghana than Nigeria. Although, the two countries’ style of play is the same, Nigeria is more technical in its approach of play than Ghana,” Javier said.
The coach commended the Zimbabweans “for a job well done,” saying that the team dictated the tune but were only unlucky not to score.
On penalty, the coach said he does not believe in training players on how to convert penalty, stressing that the game of penalty was “everybody’s game.”
He said they would go into the final with the same style they played against Zimbabwe, assuring that they were also capable of subduing any team in the final.
The final match would be played at Cape Township Stadium tomorrow.
