‘Leave Amaechi Alone’

Rumuokwuta in the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Chief Tony Woherem has warned those he described as political detractors of the Rivers State Governor Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi to leave the Governor alone.
In an interview with newsmen in Port Harcourt, Chief Woherem said that the new Year demands the State governor gets the cooperation and support of everyone in the state to move the state forward.
He said that time has come for detractors to stop distracting the state governor in the interest of the peace and development of the state.
“I think in the new year, it is the right thing to follow the leader of Rivers politics, Governor Amaechi to the new party APC trusting that the party will adequately protect the rights of Rivers people”, he said.
According to him, Governor Amaechi leadership style has brought joy to Rivers people inview of his many laudable infrastructural development, he has brought to the state.
The traditional ruler who commended the Governor for the massive development the State, however urged him to be steadfast, assuring that God is on his side.
“If God is for you, no one can be against you,” he stated philosophically.
He also commended the Chief of staff Government House Port Harcourt, Chief Tony Okocha for his support not only to the Governor, but to the people of Rumuokwuta and Ikwerre people in general.
Woherem called on the people of Rivers State to remain calm inspite of obvious provocations by political detractors while youths should resist being used to forment trouble.
