Rivers State Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi, has called on Christians in the state to pray for him and other leaders in the state.
Speaking at the Ministers Prayer Network International tagged, “The Great Harvest,”, held in Port Harcourt at the weekend, the Rivers State Chief Executive said the current political travails the state was facing could be overcome.
He said the challenges he had faced before he became Speaker and Governor were stepping stones God had laid before him to attain greatness, saying “Even with the political crisis, I have God Almighty”.
Amaechi said he became governor after 10 months of tortuous experience, and therefore was not perturbed because God had always seen him through all crises.
He said the most important thing for all leaders was to put their trust in God as only God answers prayers and elevates individuals whose faith do not waver in Him.
The Rivers State governor said apart from obtaining God’s favour in his political life, God equally saw him through school and other endeavours.
Urging leaders and politicians to be disciplined and – courageous, Rt. Hon. Amaechi remarked that, “there is nothing I have achieved on earth that didn’t come from God”.
He used the occasion to thank the Church and all Christians for their prayers, pointing out that, “I believe that if all of you cry to God on my behalf, God will hear”.
Highlights of the prayer meeting were special ministeration by men and women of God, songs and prayers for the governor’s family, state and leaders in authority.
