Hausa, Others React To Shooting Of Abe

The Chairman of
Islamic Organisation for Eradication, Innovation and Establishing Sunnah (JIBIWE), Rivers State chapter, Alhaji Musa Lade has called on politicians to display more maturity in handling the ongoing crisis in the state.
Lade said yesterday that it was the organisation’s reaction to the shooting of Senator Magnus Abe at the political rally in Port Harcourt.
The chairman also urged the police not to be partisan in the political crisis in the state, noting that the police was the hope for peace in any given society and the reason tax payers money was spent on them daily.
He said the police should strive to ensure that justice prevails in its handling of the ongoing crisis in the state.
Lade expressed fears that militants could return if the ongoing crisis was not resolved before 2015 elections in the state.
Also, the Secretary General of Niger Delta Energy Development, Mr Tony Uranta said it would be a sheer display of negligence and incompetence by the police in the state, if the senator was actually shot by the police at the rally.
Uranta called for transparent investigation of the incident and bring to book the culprits for justice.
Also, an  activist, Mr Ken Atsuwete called for immediate sack of the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Mbu Joseph Mbu for security lapses.
