Five Countries For Lagos Wheel Chair Basketball Tourney
The Technical Director, Nigeria Wheelchair Basketball Federation (NWBF), Adoki Oberenilene, has said that six teams from five foreign countries would feature at the 3rd Victor Ochei International tournament.
Oberenilene told newsmen in Lagos that the competition would hold between February 18 and 22 in Lagos.
The countries, he said, were South Africa, the Republic of Benin, Togo, Cameroon and two teams from Ghana.
“Unlike the last edition where only three foreign teams from Ghana, Togo and the Republic of Benin featured, this edition will witness an upsurge in international participation.
“The success of the previous editions have positively impacted on the competition and by now, we should be focusing more on innovations to sustain the tempo,” Oberenilene said.
According to him, about 20 local teams will lock horns with the six foreign teams in the competition.
He said that the federation would be able to select the crop of players for the national team at the competition, for international assignments.
