‘Eagles Criticism Unfair’
Enugu Rangers official, Foster Chime has condemned the criticism of the home-based Super Eagles after their semi-final loss to Ghana in the African Nations Championship.
Nigeria exited the competition 4-1 on penalties after extra-time produced a 0-0 draw at Free State Stadium on Wednesday night.
“It’s just a game, at least we’ve been winning,” Chime, an information director at Rangers, told newsmen.
“We lost to Mali in the beginning but we won others. Then there was the miracle against Morocco when we were down by three goals, but we came back to win 4-3,” he reminded.
“It was goalless this time and we were ousted on penalties. I believe it’s just sheer luck that was not on our side in the last game. Remember we struck the bar at a point in the game, and their goalkeeper made some great saves in the dying minutes.”
