Court Dissolves Marriage Over Husband’s Waywardness
An Ilorin Area
Court last Thursday, dissolved the three-year- old marriage between Kudirat Ahmed and her husband, Ahmed Idris, over his waywardness.
Kudirat, 28, a resident of Sango Area, Ilorin, had earlier prayed the court to dissolve her marriage to Idris, for being wayward.
She accused her husband of being rough and wayward in his lifestyle, saying that he had never behaved like a family man.
“My husband always parades different ladies and hangs out in beer parlours to spend on them not minding his family,” she said.
She said that their marriage was contracted in 2011 and had produced one female child, Memunat.
“My lord, I want an end to this marriage because I see no reason enduring with a man that does not respect his wife,” said the complainant.
The defendant did not object to the prayer of his wife, saying that she was free to go.
He prayed the court to grant the prayer of his wife, adding: “My wife is too jealous and doesn’t trust me.”
The presiding Judge, Mr Yusuf Abdulkareem, dissolved their marriage and issued a certificate of divorce to the plaintiff.
