The Rivers State Commissioner for Works, Chief Victor Giadom has warned politicians of Ogoni ethnic nationality to desist from politics of bitterness and engage themselves in activities that would ensure the development of Ogoniland.

Chief Giadom gave the warning last Saturday in the Save Rivers Movement rally at Bori, the headquarters of Khana Local Government Area.

Regretting that violence was the only cheap instrument used by greedy polticiians to actualise their inordinate ambition, he challenged politicians in Ogoniland to show their popularity by upholding the tenets of democracy.

Chief Giadom lauded the Rivers State Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi for his commitment to security of lives and property in the state and condemned those who disrupted last week’s rally organised by Save Rivers Movement.

Meanwhile, the Director of Social Action Group in Rivers State, Dr Isaac Osuoka, has stated that Rivers people will vote for any political party that will bring development and peace in the state.

He called on politicians to shun violence and embrace peace so as to fast-track development in the region.

He condemned the crisis rocking Rivers State, saying that crisis would not do any person any good.
