APC Urges Support For Amaechi

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has called on the People of Rivers State to support the present administration for the many giant and generational projects and programmes being undertaken by the government.

The chairman of the party, Dr Davies Ibiamu Ikanya, who stated this in a statement enjoined the people of Rivers State not to despair due to some challenges but be resolute in the support of Governor Chibuike Amaechi  to ensure that the interest of the state is protected at all times.

Dr Ikanya disclosed that the APC in Rivers State is embarking on a new and critical mission to restore hope and generally enhance the living standard of the people.

According to him, this is in realisation that solutions to our socio-economic problems do not lie with force of arms, political propaganda and lawlessness which are the hallmarks of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State.

“Achieving general contentment for the populace can only come through careful study, hardwork, adherence to the rule of law and internal party democracy which are the hallowed principles of the All Progressive Congress (APC)”, he said.

He, however, said the party is convinced that the giant strides of Governor Amaechi in education, health, roads, bridges, power, human capital development among others, were clear testimony of good leadership, good governance and accountability.

“It, therefore, behoves the people of our dear state to support and stand by the governor even as he fearlessly confronts impunity and demands for equity, justice and fair play for Rivers State and our people”, he said.

He expressed regrets that Rivers State ‘wasted’ over two million votes for Goodluck Jonathan in the 2011 general elections and has nothing in return, regretting that instead the people  are being subjected to group persecution and discrimination by the federal government.
