Andoni Plans Link Roads To Boost Tourism
Andoni Local Government Council is set to provide link roads and make all roads in the area accessible in its determination to promote tourism.
The council chairman, Hon Orom Nte Ereforokuma who disclosed this during a meeting with traditional rulers and chiefs at Ngo, the council headquarters, also restated the council’s commitment to sustaining peace within Andoni and its neighbours.
Hon Ereforokuma said that a road that will link Ngo to the coast will be constructed in the first quarter of this year, while more communities at the Unyeada and Ngo axis will be connected to the national grid.
The council boss also said that a mini-computer centre would be established in each of the secondary schools in the area, while the Information Communication and Technology (ICT) centre which will soon be commissioned with eighty computers will serve the interest of students at Government Secondary School, Ngo, Community Secondary Schools, Ekede and Agwut-Obolo respectively.
The chairman who reviewed the activities of the council within the last two years, said that students of Andoni origin in the Nigerian Law Schools as well as those studying French have received regular support from the council, while the council makes regular payment to the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHEDC) to ensure a steady and uninterrupted power supply at Asarama, Unyeada and other communities currently connected to the national grid.
He commended the traditional rulers and chiefs for their consistent support towards ensuring peace in their domains and urged for it to be sustained.
In their various reactions, the chiefs thanked the council chairman for his level of developmental strides in the area and commended him for sustaining closer relationships with them.
