ABS Signs 30 New Players
The management of
Abubakar Bukola Saraki FC of Ilorin has assured its 30 new players that they would enjoy bonus and allowance as players in the Premier League.
The General Manager of (ABSFC), Alloy Chukwuemeka, gave this assurance at the unveiling of the new players at the club’s secretariat, Ilorin.
He said that the club would pay the new players Premier League salary and feeding allowance.
According to him, the club will not pay any player a fixed salary but based on each person’s performances.
Chukwuemeka said that the club would pay only salaries because sign-on fee system had been abolished.
He said performance chart would be used to rate the players, adding that the club would not hesitate to send any player who performed below expectation away from the team.
The ABS manager said that another 20 youth players would soon be unveiled as the feeder team of the club.
He explained that 10 out of the 20 players would be from the Kwara Football Academy while the remaining 10 would be picked from the streets across the state.
Also speaking, the Kwara Football Association Chairman, Malam Busari Ishola, commended the proprietor of the club, Sen. Bukola Saraki, for his continuous support for the team.
He called on Kwara people to always come out in their numbers to support Kwara Utd and ABS whenever they are playing.
Ishola urged the new players to be focused and disciplined so as to achieve the objective of returning to the Premier League next season.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the 30 players unveiled included four goalkeepers, nine defenders, seven mid-fielders and 10 attackers.
The players, after being unveiled, signed code of conduct and performance contract forms.
NAN reports that the Nigeria National League is expected to kick off on Saturday, Jan. 25, with matches to be played across the country.
