A former Councillor in
the Port Harcourt City Local Government, Loveday Elele Chukwu, has called on Rivers people not to vote any politician that has been tested and failed in the next general elections.
Chukwu who made the call in Port Harcourt in a chat with The Tide, said most of the politicians working against the present administration had thought that Governor Chibuike Amaechi would fail, noting that their frustration was what was dragging them crazy.
According to him, most of those politicians had failed previously and were disappointed that Governor Amaechi was working assiduously to write his name in gold in the annals of Rivers State.
“Former Minister of Transport, Dr Abiye Sekibo, could not attract federal project to his state and local government, while Prince Uche Secondus as party chairman for many years did nothing to bring development to his area”, he observed.
Chukwu, who is also the youth President of Rumuwoji Youth Solidarity Movement (RYSM), cautioned former Deputy Speaker of House of Representative, Austine Opara and Chibudum Nwuche, against making unguarded utterances against Governor Amaechi because “they failed Rivers people while they were Deputy Speakers of House of Representatives.
He, however, commended Governor Amaechi for protecting the state’s resources from being plundered by greedy and selfish politicians, assuring that the people were behind him (Amaechi).
He envisaged more trouble in the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) before the 2015 elections, stating that those planning to hijack governance in the state would fail in their bid.
