World Bank, CADP Rehabilitate Roads In Lagos

The World Bank, in Collaboration with the Commercial Agriculture Development Project (CADP) said it had begun rehabilitating access roads to farms in six locations in Lagos State.

Lagos State Cordinator of CADP, Mr Kehinde Ogunyinka, who disclosed this to newsmen in Lagos, last Thursday, said that the 12km of road was being rehabilitated under the second phase of the project.

He stated that the farms were located in Epe, Ikorodu, Alimoso, Ibeju Lekki and Etiosa, adding that two farms located in Epe benefited from the road project.

Ogunyinka explained that the World Bank and CADP had rehabilitated 22km of road in 10 locations under the first phase of the project.

The coordinator further stated that the road rehabilitation would ease transportation of farm produce from the farm to the  market and that this will enhance business.

According to him, the World Bank assisted project is helping commercial farmers to remove produce constrains and that the total intervention programme of the project is worth over N2 billion.

Ogunyinka further stated that the project was aimed at boosting formers income, as well as farming as a business.
