Skills Acquisition: SMEDAN Trains 70 Youths In Bauchi

The Small and
Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) in Bauchi says it has started training 70 youths under its entrepreneurship development and skills acquisition programme.
Tthe Zonal Coordinator of SMEDAN in Bauchi,Alhaji Isa Mahamood,  told newsmen  last Tuesday that the training was to equip youths to be self-reliant.
Mahamood said that the trainees were drawn from the three senatorial districts in the state.
According to him, the participants will be trained on personal business visioning, basic marketing and sales techniques, book keeping, production, business plan and information technology, among others.
“The training, which holds nationwide, is part of the Federal Government’s efforts to provide jobs for youths. “The training will expose the youths on how to set up and manage their own small business successfully and be more productive to themselves and the society”, he said.
The coordinator said that the agency would also assist the trainees with business development services and link them with some financial institutions for access to loan facilities.
