Senate President David
Mark last Sunday commissioned a borehole constructed by Senator Kabiru Gaya at the Kano Golf Club in Kano metropolis.
The Tide reports that the project was initiated and sponsored by Gaya to supply water to the golf course.
Mark called on donors and other corporate organisations to contribute their quota towards transforming the place.
The senate president, who was in Kano to witness the First Wazirin Dutse Open Golf Championship 2013, commended Gaya for initiating the project.
“Iam in Kano to also witness the first Wazirin Dutse Open Golf Championship 2013, which attracted numerous players from across the nation,’’ he said.
In his remarks, the Vice President of the Kano Golf Club, retired Air Vice Marshal Mouktar Mohammed, called on ASUU to end its strike, to ensure amicable resolution of the lingering crisis.
‘’This is not the time to apportion blame to any party but to resolve the crisis to enable students to return to school.
According to him, the lingering strike has negatively affected students who are already tired of staying at home.
He urged the leadership of the union to call off the strike and resolve the dispute with the Federal Government.
Gaya is representing Kano South Senatorial District which comprises 16 local government areas of the state.
