RSG Unveils Housing Model For Greater PH

The Rivers State Government has unveiled a new model, the Mixed Use Housing Development model for the Phase 1 of the Greater Port Harcourt City.
The mixed use development project developed by Port Harcourt Centenary Developments Limited, is a Joint Venture Company between Greater Port Harcourt City Development Authority and liberty land limited, based in Port Harcourt.
Secretary to the State Government Mr. George Feyii who performed the ceremony at the weekend in Port Harcourt said that the Government was committed to ensuring that its policies and programmes improve the lives of peoples of the state at various levels.
The Secretary to the State Government who was represented by the Commissioner for Information/Communication, Mrs Ibim Semenitari, said the government will continue to deliver to Rivers people the best that money could buy, and urged investors to take advantage of the prevailing peace and beautiful environment to invest in the state.
The Administrator of Greater Port Harcourt City Development Authority, Dame Aleruchi Cookey-Gam said that the Phase 1 of the new city which is located near the Port Harcourt International Airport, has a water treatment plant that has already been completed.
Mrs Cookey-Gam said that the phase 1 of the new City will have five schools, the traditional Churches and waste management plan while a club house was also being proposed for the new city.
The Administrator also said that the government was embarking on massive construction of roads to improve the expansion of the old Port Harcourt City noting that Government can only achieve its excellent plan for the city, through the effort of the private sector.
The Executive Director of Port Harcourt Centenary limited, Mr. Bineet Sarang, said that the company was committed to building 1000 housing units for the Greater Port Harcourt Phase 1.
According to him, the project which would be completed in two years was designed for the middle class income earners.
Sarang also said that, public response to the project would affect the number of housing units to be built by the company.
