Rivers Wrestlers Target Victory In Gov Dickson’s Classics

Rivers State wrestlers are
poised to emerge tops at the forthcoming 2013 Governor Dickson National Wrestling Classics on 16th December 2013 in Bayelsa State.
The Chief Coach of the state’s Wrestling association, Eli Oyonomunude, who stated this last Tuesday while speaking with Tidesports in Port Harcourt, said that Rivers Wrestlers have prepared for the competition.
According to him, weight categories for competition at the classics include 42kg, 50kg, 60kg, 74kg, 78kg, 96kg, and 120kg for male wrestlers.
While, the female weight category includes 37kg, 40kg, 43kg, 48kg, 51kg, 55kg, 59kg, 63kg, 67kg and 72kg.
Meanwhile, according to the organisers of the classics, wrestlers are advised to be decently dressed in their track suit at all presentation of medal ceremonies, while various states are expected to fly their banners for opening and closing ceremonies.
States that are yet to pay the annual subscription fee of N10,000 for the year (2013) are urged to pay upon arrival.
At the moment, Rivers wrestlers are among sporting boaters that travelled to Abuja for the maiden edition of the National Under-17 Youth Games.
