Pillars To Recall Ikhana From Retirement
League champions Kano
Pillars may well persuade coach Kadiri Ikhana to come out of retirement for a second time to lead them to next year’s CAF Champions League.
Last season, Ikhana served as a consultant for Nasarawa United to escape relegation.
This was after he had declared two seasons ago that he was through with club coaching in Nigeria after his stint with Kwara United.
Pillars are shopping for a replacement for Mohammed Babaganaru, who led them to a back-to-back League championship this past season.
And former Falcons coach Ikhana is already one of those linked with the top Pillars post.
Incidentally, the no-nonsense Ikhana led Pillars to win their first-ever championship five years ago.
Ikhana guided Enyimba to win their first Champions League trophy in 2003.
Pillars best showing in the continental competition was a semi-final finish in 2009.
