Ministry Generates N318.3m In Ogun
The Ogun State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry said his ministry generated N318.3 million between January and October out of its 1.037 billion target for the year.
Ashiru announced this in Abeokuta while defending the ministry’s 2014 budget at the Ogun House of Assembly Complex.
The commissioner said the proposed revenue for 2014 would be N2.2 billion while N1.3 billion had been budgeted as total expenditure.
He said N289.1 million would be spent on recurrent expenditure while N 1.1 billion had been earmarked for capital expenditure.
Ashiru said the ministry would re-evaluate and identify additional revenue streams from businesses to improve revenue generation in the next fiscal year.
“The ministry will promote the empowerment of micro, small and medium enterprises through credit support facilities” said.
The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr Muyiwa Oladipo said his ministry’s total expenditure for 2014 would be N288.7 million while N120 million had been earmarked for capital expenditure.
He said the ministry would spend the sum of N60 million on the purchase of motor vehicles. Oladipo said the ministry would continue to improve upon the welfare of traditional rulers to beef up the dignity befitting their status.
“We will also continue to improve the capacity of local government personnel and ministry officials for efficient service delivery,” he said.
