Lagos Ports Expect 106 Ships
One hundred and six ships are expected to berth at the Lagos ports on December 30, 2013.
The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) made the ‘shipping position’ disclosure in a publication made available to our correspondent.
A breakdown by the NPA indicates that 31 ships are carrying various brands of vehicles, 21 ships are laden with petroleum products, while 45 ships are loaded with containers.
The statement also said that the remaining ships would sail in with general cargoes, bulk wheat, fresh fish, bulk fertiliser, gypsum, urea, base oil, steel products, soda ash and bulk sugar.
Meanwhile, the NPA has announced that seven ships carrying petroleum products and three others ladened with bulk fertiliser and wheat, are waiting to berth and discharge their products at the ports.
The statement further said that 23 ships are currently discharging containers, bulk wheat, general cargo, bulk fertiliser, ethanol, gypsum, truck head and petroleum products at the ports.
