Housewife Seeks Divorce Over Husband’s Lifestyle
A housewife, Kerimat
Jimoh, last Thursday urged an Ilorin Area Court to dissolve the three-year-old marriage to her husband, Wahab, due to his wayward lifestyle.
Kerimat, 30, a resident of Ipata Area, Ilorin, told the court that her husband was wayward and rough in his lifestyle.
“My husband always goes out with different set of ladies and will spend his whole income on them, not minding his family,’’ she said.
She said the marriage was contracted in 2010 and had produced one male child, Aliyu.
The mother of one told the court that she was the only one responsible for the upkeep of the child.
“I want an end to this marriage because I cannot cope with a man that values outsiders than his housewife and only child,’’ Kerimat said.
Jimoh opposed the petition, adding that he was still in love and interested in the marriage.
He told the court that his wife Kerimat was too jealous and had never trusted him for once.
“Henceforth, I promise to make my wife and home my first priority in order to make my wife happy,’’ he said.
The respondent urged the court to grant him an adjournment to enable him to reconcile with the wife.
The Judge, Mr Yusuf Abdulkareem, adjourned the case to December 20, for possible reconciliation or continuation of hearing.
