GLO, Pillars Partner To Popularise Clubs
Globacom has unveiled a unique partnership with Premier League clubs in Nigeria, starting with reigning champions Kano Pillars FC.
The partnership entails the branding of a new range of simcard and recharge cards with club logos, and remitting a fraction of the proceeds from the sales of the items to the clubs.
Kano Pillars were unveiled as the first club to benefit from the arrangement.
Presenting the special sims and recharge cards, national sales coordinator of Globacom Ibrahim Fadipe stated that the event marks another milestone in the company’s relationship with Premier League clubs.
“As part of the commitment, Globacom and Kano Pillars recently signed a memorandum of understanding on a new partnership aimed at stimulating football fans to troop en masse to the stadiums to watch Kano Pillars matches as well as promote the commercial interest of both organisations,” Fadipe explained.
He further described the initiative as an avenue for stakeholders to expand their business frontiers and therefore called on all supporters and friends of Kano Pillars to subscribe to this package which according to him will give them a special privilege of making calls to all networks in Nigeria at just 12Kobo per second.
The arrangement also involves a promo wherein any Kano Pillars fan and other football lovers who purchase a Kano Pillars special sim and recharge card will win different gifts weekly.
Kano Pillars chairman Abba Yola described the partnership as a landmark which will serve as another revenue source for the club.
