Dame Amaechi Visits Christmas Babies

Wife of the Rivers State Governor Dame Judith Amaechi last Wednesday visited first baby delivered at the Braithwaite Memorial Specialist Hospital and a set of triplet at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital.

Dame Amaechi who also visited orphanage homes, charged Nigerians to renew their love and cater for the well being of less privileged children.

Mrs. Amaechi, who presented cash gifts and other items to the children, restated her determination to better the lots of the Nigerian child through her non-governmental organisation , the Empowerment Support Initiative (ESI).

Governor Amaechi’s wife, who also spoke during her visit to the Chief Medical Director of UPTH, Prof. Aaron Ojule, said the ESI’s Early Child Education Centre has achieved its set objective, and pledged her determination to improve on the rights of the children.

The Rivers First Lady also visited the Port Harcourt Orphanage Home where she adorned the children with new clothes she bought for the season, and presented other gift items to them.

She said Christmas symbolizes love and peace, adding that Nigerians must learn to emulate Christ whose birth symbolizes redemption for mankind.

She vowed to ensure that children were given their pride of place in the policy thrust of Governor Amaechi administration.
