Commissioner Promises Transformers To Umuagbai

The Rivers State Commissioner for Culture  and Tourism, Dr Nabbs Imegwu, has promised to provide more transformers and other social amenities to Umuagbai community, Ndoki in the Oyigbo Local Government Area of the state.

Dr Imegwu, who said this during his coronation as Mbichiri Eze of Uhu Ojika compound, Umuagbai also pledged to ensure peace, unity and progress in Uhu Ojika and Umuagbai communities.

The newly installed chief used the occasion to urge the youths and others in the area to toe the line of peace, stressing that all acts inimical to the peace and stability of the community will not be tolerated.

While thanking the people for finding him worthy to head them and become another Mbichiri Eze, he urged them to support the state Governor Rt Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi to enable him complete his programmes for the people.

The Tide learnt that the Commissioner’s coronation as Mbichiri Eze of Uhu Ojika was made possible by the abdication from the throne by one Prince Akarahu Nna Nwagbara, who transferred his authority to Dr Imegwu as the new community chief.

Also speaking, the compound secretary, Elder Timothy Onyemachi, described the ceremony as one of the best in the area and urged the people to give the new chief the support he deserve to enable him perform his traditional rights.

Also speaking, Elder Nna Ebenezer Osuji, thanked God for the successful coronation of the commissioner as Mbichiri Eze of Uhu Ojika Umuagbai Ndoki.

Elder Osuji also urged all  Uhu Ojika sons and daughters to support him to enable him move the family forward.

He also cautioned the commissioner not to forget the family that transferred power to him.

Meanwhile, the compound has sent a letter to the Umuagbai council of chiefs requesting it to choose a date for the formal presentation of the new chief to the council.

Dignitaries from all walks of life attended the ceremony.
