APGA Vows To Win Anambra Council Polls
The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Anambra State says it would win the council polls in the state with a landslide.
National Chairman of the party, Chief Victor Umeh, , made the vow at the start of the party’s campaigns for the polls last Monday.
Umeh said the people of the state had already made a bold statement at governorship election in November by voting massively for APGA.
He said that the purposeful leadership of Governor Peter Obi would guarantee its victory at the polls.
Umeh handed party flags to three chairmanship candidates from the three senatorial zones in the state.
“Our party has done well in Anambra and we got endorsement with the landslide victory at the governorship elections. The coming victory in the council poll will be the climax of our victories. It is clear that Anambra is an APGA state and we call on our brothers in other parties to join the winning team as we are ready to welcome them’’, he said.
On his part, Governor Peter Obi said APGA would continue the winning streak in the state as it had done well to earn the followership of the people.
Obi wished all a merry Christmas, urging them to celebrate the season with joy and happiness.
The Anambra Independent Electoral Commission last week fixed the council polls in the state for January11, 2014.
