12 Ships To Discharge Commodities At Lagos Ports
No fewer than twelve ships are waiting to berth at the Lagos ports.
The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) announced this in its‘shipping position’ made available to newsmen in Lagos, recently.
The Tide also reports that the ships are laden with petroleum products and other commodities.
A breakdown of the ships showed that five ships are carrying petrol; two with kerosene, one each with bulk gas, aviation fuel, bulk fertiliser, used vehicles and containers, respectively.
Meanwhile, NPA also said that 90 ships carrying different cargoes would sail into the ports from December 24 to January 20.
They said that 10 ships are expected to arrive with petroleum products, 15 ships carrying new and used vehicles, while 34 ships have containers.
The Shipping Position also indicated that other ships would arrive with general cargo, bulk wheat, bulk fertilisers, bulk salt, bulk sugar, bulk rice in bags, crude palm oil, bulk maize, truck and steel products.
NPA said that 23 ships were currently discharging containers, bulk wheat, bulk sugar, bulk urea, fresh fish, ethanol and petroleum products.
