Rotary Club, Firm Train 45 Youths On ICT

Harcourt Central in conjunction with SSCN Technologies Limited, have jointly sponsored 45 youths in a one-month free intensive computer training programme in Port Harcourt.
The Tide reports that the course participants were drown from all works of life and are to be trained in computer appreciation, Desktop publishing, Computer Engineering and Repairs, Networking, Computer Aided Designs, as well as Web engineering.
Declaring the training programme open on Tuesday in Port Harcourt, the Assistant Governor Rotary Zone 21 of Rotary International District 9140, Rotarian Sam Mba, commended the Rotary Club of Port Harcourt central and SSCN Technologies Ltd for the initiative to impact on the lives of the less privileged in the society, noting that the programme commands the largest assembly of participants in any similar free Rotary project in the past.
He enjoined the participants to utilise the skills acquired to improve on their well being and replicate same to others at the end of their training.
In his address, the immediate past President and Director Ethics of Rotary Club of Port Harcourt Central, Rotarian Chief Okwun Omeaku, congratulated the course participants for scaling through the rigorous screening exercise.
Chief Omeaku who represented the club president, Rotarian Johnbosco Onunkwo, urged the participants to justify the huge investments made by the Club and SSCN by putting in their best in time and dedication.
The Chief Executive of the SSCN Technologies Ltd, Rotarian Hillary Suka, commended the Rotarian Club of Port Harcourt Central for the collaborative efforts towards the success of the programme.
While stressing the need for discipline among the participants, he re-affirmed his organisation’s resolve to further improve the lots of the less privileged in the society.
The event was graced by members of the Board and Rotarians from RC Port Harcourt Central as well as the management and staff of SSCN Technologies Ltd and the general public.
The one-month free computer training programme is expected to end on Wednesday, November 27, 2013.
