Rivers Judiciary Lifts CJN Trophy

The Rivers State
Judiciary has won the 19th edition of the Chief Justice of Nigeria Sports Competition hosted by the state.
The Rivers team defeated their Kano State counterpart 2-0 in the final match played at the Sharks Football Stadium, Port Harcourt, yesterday. The Team Rivers opened scores at the 20th minutes of the first half and later increased the goal tally at the 54th minutes into the second half of the match.
Kano football team however failed to utilize scoring opportunities due to lack of cohesion among the players.
In another match earlier at the same venue, Federal High Court team defeated the Supreme Court FC.
Presenting the trophies to the winners, Rivers State Acting Chief Judge, Justice Peter C. Agumagu lauded the teams that participated in competition.
Justice Agumagu observed that the event has gone a long way to promote a sense of friendship among the judiciary families adding that the judiciary arm of the government would continue to improve sports development.
He congratulated the teams that participated in the competition and urged them to always pray for the growth of the judiciary.
The National Judicial Institute (NJI) emerged the best behaved team, while Akwa-Ibom State won the best in match past.
Delta State is expected to host the 20th edition of the game in 2014.
