Gyan Rates Awoniyi High

attacking midfielder Taiwo Awoniyi has been praised by Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan at the 2013 FIFA Under-17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates.
Awoniyi has been in magnificent form since replacing the injured Success Isaac in their second game of the competition. He was very influential in Nigeria’s 4-1 win over Iran to reach the quarterfinals.
Gyan was in the stands for the Nigeria v Iran game and afterwards could not hide his feelings for the young midfielder.
“I like him, that No.18, Awoniyi. He does all the work up there and creates a lot,” he told FIFA.com.
“This is my kind of player.”
Nigeria take on Uruguay in the quarter final on Saturday, and Awoniyi is expected to be part of the Nigeria squad for the match.
