A socio-political group, that labeled itself Safe Rivers Movement, says the Grassroots Democratic Initiative (GDI) thrives on deceit and propaganda.
Chairman of Save Rivers Movement, Ahoada-East Chapter, Mr. Justice Uhor in a chat with newsmen at the weekend in Port Harcourt blasted GDI for spreading lies and propaganda.
Uhor disclosed that the Movement was formed to check the propaganda and lies GDI was spreading in Rivers State, reasoning that any right thinking Rivers citizen should know that Governor Amaechi has performed and impacted on the lives of the people in the State.
While calling on Rivers people to support Governor Amaechi, Uhor charged the people, “to know the truth because it is the truth that will save Rivers people.
Uhor was of the opinion that there was no leadership vacuum in Rivers State, saying that Governor Amaechi is an epitome of good governance, declared the group was ready to follow him anywhere he was ready to pitch his political tent.
Uhor however lauded the Chairman of Ahoada-East Local Government Area, Chief Cassidy Ikegbidi for his effort in transforming the area, noting that those who would succeed him would struggle to beat his legacies.
On his part, Secretary of save Rivers Movement, Chief Effort Aggrey said those antagonizing the administration of Governor Chibuike Amaechi lack genuine reasons to do so stating that it was unfortunate that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State has assumed the function of the opposition in the State.
The Ekpeye traditional ruler scored Amaechi high on development projects stating that, “every peace loving person would agree that Amaechi has transformed Rivers State within limits of the State resource.”
