“These players were selected based on their past and present performances in national and international championships which gave them an edge over others,“ she said.
She said that the team was training at the Knock-Up Hall of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, and would begin closed camp from November 21 to intensify preparations for the championships.
“Earnest training will commence on Thursday to enable the technical crew to sharpen the athletes’ skills and get them ready to compete and outshine their opponents,‘’ she said.
According to her, the contingents will depart Nigeria on November 28.
“It is very important for the players to train and get acquainted with the environment while they also have time to complete their registration before the championships begin,‘’ she said.
