Armed Robbers Invade Enugu

Street, Coal Camp, Enugu, the capital city of Enugu state  were thrown into fear and panic on Monday, as a gang of armed robbers struck, killing a driver of a bus belonging to one of the Enugu based Telecommunications companies (MTN).
It was gathered that the hoodlums had trailed the driver and some occupants suspected to be conveying some goods and undisclosed amount of money and on getting to Mbanugo around coal camp axis, opened fire on the bus, killing the driver on the spot, while two others sustained severe injuries.
Our correspondent further reports that a Keke –Napep  driver who was passing by during the shooting that terminated the life of the driver, was also caught by stray bullet on the head and he died instantly.
Confirming the worrisome incident, the Enugu State Command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr. Ebere Amaraizu (DSP), said that the command has already commenced a full scale investigations into the robbery incident with a view to fishing out the run away robbers.
Amaraizu, however, advised members of the public to always apply for police security whenever they want to convey valuables or huge sums of money from one location to the other.
In another development, operatives of the Awkunanaw Division of the Nigeria police Enugu state command on Monday nabbed three notorious armed robbery suspects including a woman who specialized in terrorizing members of the public within Liberation Road Awkunanaw and its environs with Keke –  Napep.
It was gathered that the hoodlums were pursued by the operatives as they fired sporadically into the air in a bid to scare people and be able to operate smoothly when luck ran out on them.
The arrest of the  female member later led to the arrest of two others who were in their hiding out.
