APGA Flays Orji’s Plan To Build Airport

The All Progressives
Grand Alliance (APGA) has described the plan by the Abia State Government to build an airport as a ‘misplaced priority’.
Briefing journalists in Aba, Abia on Wednesday, the state Chairman of APGA, Chief Prince Ukaegbu, said the project was the least problem of the people.
“The state government’s reported plan to build an airport in the state is like the case of a poorly-fed man whose children are driven away from school over fees but prefers to buy a luxury car.
“Aba roads are impassable and the city is in squalor. Rather than fixing the poor infrastructure in the state, the government is busy planning big projects that are unrealisable. How can a government that cannot construct half a kilometre road in one year be talking of building an airport in less than 15 months to the expiration of its tenure?’’ he questioned.
The chairman, however, advised the government to look inwards and focus on projects that would positively impact on the people.
