The former Governor
of Rivers State, Chief Rufus Ada-George says peace, unity and understanding among politicians in the state have become imperative to ensure a stable polity.
Ada-George who stated this last Friday in Okrika, headquarters of  Okrika Local Government Area of Rivers State, said it was only under peaceful atmosphere that meaningful developments would strive.
“Am still advocating for peace, unity and understanding among the political groups in the state.
“It is only under a peaceful atmosphere that meaningful development can take place . All  warring groups should sheathe their swords and embrace dialogue to work in harmony”.
Also speaking, the lawmaker representing Ogu/Bolo Constituency in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Evans Bipi said the face-off in the State House of Assembly would soon be resolved.
He said what happened among the law makers few months ago was normal, adding that every family must experience some disagreements which are later resolved amicably under dialogue.
Bipi assured that the members of the State Assembly would soon come together and go about their legislative duties peacefully.
“What happened few months ago in the State House Assembly has always happened among brothers and sisters. There is hardly any family that not experience bitterness and crisis at one point or the other but with dialogue they still come together to forge ahead. The misunderstanding in the State House of Assembly can not be an exception.
We will soon resolve our differences”, the lawmaker  said.
Bipi describes late Mrs Charity Fyneface Oba as a good home builder, whose sterling qualities provided the community the most articulate First Lady in the history of Nigeria who has relentlessly pursued national unity and development.
He described her as a role model that should not be forgotten in Okrika and Rivers State in general.
