Akwa United leading
scorer, Mfom Udoh has said last Saturday’s surprise win at Warri Wolves has boosted their chances of staying up this season.
Akwa United defeated Warri Wolves 1-0 and moved out of the relegation pack with 47 points.
“The victory is a big step out of relegation, we need to be more focused now because we still have two matches left and we need the minimum six points at stake to be sure of our survival, so the battle has just begun,” said Udoh, who has scored 13 goals this season.
“It was God that gave us the victory because they were given a penalty in stoppage time, but our goalkeeper Femi Kayode saved it. So we give God all the Glory.”
Akwa United will be away to Kwara in Lokoja on Sunday.
