Uba Hails OPM’s Humanitarian Service
The Managing Director of
Capital Oil and Labour Party governorship candidate in the forthcoming governorship elections in Anambra State, Chief Ifeanyi Uba has rated the Omega Power Ministries (OPM) high in humanitarian activities.
Speaking in an interview with newsmen in Port Harcourt during the church’s seventh anniversary and 40th birthday celebration of its General Overseer, Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere, Chief Uba said that other Christian organisations needed to emulate the example of Omega Power Ministries, by initiating programmes that will uplift the conditions of members of the public.
The capital oil managing director said that activities of the church in the areas of free medical programmes for members of the public, Free Restaurant and the training of Nigerians in skills acquisition programme in oil and gas were worthy of emulation and urged other churches to emulate the initiative.
Also speaking with newsmen, Nollywood Director, Mr Jack Orji said that the activities of the church had endeared members of Nollywood to the church.
He said that the General Overseer of the Ministries, Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere had been very supportive of members of the film industry in Nigeria.
Meanwhile, the General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries (OPM), Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere has raised alarm over the infiltration of criminals into the church.
Speaking with newsmen during the celebration, Apostle Chinyere said that time had come for church members to begin to question their pastors on how offerings and tithes were being spent. He also said that government must have nothing to do with religion.
Apostle Chinyere said the church would continue to expand its activities by opening more new branches, while its humanitarian activities would be expanded to include more less privileged members of the society.
The celebration which also coincided with the dedication of the OPM General Overseer’s First Baby attracted peoples from all walks of life.
