U-17 World/Cup: Pablo Tips Eagles For Victory
Former Spanish youth
international Pablo Coira has tipped the Golden Eaglets to shine in the upcoming Under-17 Fifa World Cup.
The retired player who was part of the victorious Spanish team that won the Under-20 World Cup hosted by Nigeria in 1999, disclosed that he has become sentimentally attracted to Nigerian football, and wished the Super Eagles a successful outing.
“I’m sentimentally attached to Nigeria since when we won the Under-20 World Cup in 1999 and I was part of the team,” he said after watching the team’s training session at the training pitch of the Dubai Higher College of Technology.
“I hope you guys would be able to win the World Cup here; for me; it has to be Nigeria and I wished you all the best.”
Coira now works with Michel Salgado at the Spanish Coaching Centre in Dubai.
The Golden Eaglets are expected to play against a friendly with the soccer team of an American University in Dubai, next week.
