Sponsors Frustrate NFF

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has disclosed that the inability of major sponsors to meet their contractual obligations is a contributory factor to its financial plight.
This disclosure was made by NFF’s General-Secretary, Musa Amadu who told the House of Representatives Committee on Sports that the federation is in dire need of financial aid as they are struggling to raise funds for both the Super Eagles and the Golden Eaglets.
“We do generate funds, but we also have challenges in those areas because as we speak now, a particular major sponsor of our national teams, always associating with our programmes, has not paid its sponsorship fees,” Amadu disclosed.
“We are scratching our heads on daily basis on how we are going to travel to Ethiopia and the United Arab Emirates, to play our matches.”
The NFF is currently locked in a financial crisis that has made it impossible for them to relocate to the recently commissioned football house.
