Rivers Power Lifters Train For 2014 NSF
In a bid to win laurels at
the forthcoming 19th National Sports Festival, in Calabar, the Cross River State capital next year, Rivers State Power Lifting Association said it has embarked on an intensive training/screening of athletes.
Head Coach of the association, Adolphus Ordu, who disclosed this in an interview with Tidesports recently in Port Harcourt said that the athletes are presently working hard to ensure that all ends are tight, when the NSF games begin.
He emphasised that the state power lifters are preparing for the task ahead as to enable them overcome hurdles associated with the festival.
I know that one of the major key to success is early preparation, even though we are yet to go into camping, we are doing everything possible to ensure that we compete favourably with our counterparts from other parts of the country”, he said.
Ordu, however, stated that the screening was to select seasoned and qualified athletes who would win medals for the state in Calabar.
He further advised the athletes to be focused, committed and exhibit discipline for which they are known.
