Obio/Akpor Crisis Suffers Setback In Court

The hope of em
battled Chairman  of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, Hon Timothy Nsirim, suffer a setback Thursday  following the re-assignment of his case file from Justice  Sylverlyn Iragunima to Justice Iyayi Lamenkara.
The claimant,  Hon Timothy Nsirim is challenging his suspension and subsequent  appointment of caretaker committee led by Chikodi Dike by  the state government.
Hon Nsirim prayed the court to declare  the caretaker  committee as illegal  as well as not to regard them adding that the committee   was usurping his position as the dully elected  chairman  of the council.
The matter was scheduled for ruling on the preliminary objections all Justice Iragunima’s court when the re-assignment of the case file would be made to the new Judge.
Although, no reason was  given for the transfer of the matter, the case was adjourned to October   23, 2013 for hearing.
