The Nigeria National
League (NNL) has said its Super Four would hold at the FIFA Goal Project pitch of the Abuja National Stadium from November 12 to 14.
The NNL Secretary, Lawrence Katken, said in a statement in Abuja that the four clubs which qualified for the competition from the just-ended 2012/2013 season would take part.
“To produce the true champions of the 2012/2013 season, NNL has told the four clubs which secured promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) to prepare for the Super Four.
“The clubs are Giwa FC of Jos and FC Taraba of Jalingo from Group A, and Abia Warriors FC of Umuahia and Crown FC of Ogbomoso from Group B,” he said.
The statement also quoted the NNL Board Chairman, Emeka Inyama, as saying the league would soon be registered as a limited liability company in accordance with international best practices.
“As part of the changes in the administration of the league, we have approached the Nigeria Football Association  (NFA) to grant us the power to register the NNL as a limited liability company with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).
“Now, the approval has been given and we will commence the registration process immediately.
“The registration will enable the NNL to attract corporate sponsorship and private sector participation in the promotion of the league,’’ the statement quoted Inyama to have stated.
It said Inyama further announced that the NNL Board had concluded plans to introduce branded match balls for the use of participating clubs in the 2013/2014 season.
“The introduction of the branded match balls is part of the innovations promised by the NNL to make the league the envy of other leagues in the world.
“Arrangements have been concluded with a company to supply the items, which the NNL will in turn supply to the participating clubs.’’
