The Movement for the
Survival of Ogoni People (MOSOP) says the proposed national conference is a unique opportunity for Nigerians to deliberate on the problems of democratic development in the country.
Impressed that the national conference is a veritable avenue to discuss and resolve issues surrounding the country’s unity, progress and co-existence among ethnic  nationalities in Nigeria, MOSOP, in a statement signed by its president Mr Legbosi Servo Pyagbara disclosed that the organization took the position after its Steering Committee meeting held at Bori in Khana Local Government Area of the Rivers State.
According to the statement, representatives to the national conference should be drawn from amongst ethnic nationalities and not on the basis of state or political parties, since Nigeria is a federation composed of nationalities.
The statement further said that representations based on ethnic nationalities would not allow the conference to be politicised.
