Maigari On Eagles Bonus Row
Nigeria Football
Federation president Aminu Maigari has distanced himself from the bonus row that is still lingering around the national team.
There has been uncertainty in media reports regarding how much will be paid to the Super Eagles for the upcoming World Cup qualifying game against Ethiopia.
Some notable members of the NFF have insisted on $5000 as a match fee, while others have called for $10,000 to be paid up front to avoid any form of distraction to the team.
Maigari has, however, refused to be drawn into the debate, insisting that since an official report to investigate the issue is pending, it would be inappropriate to comment on the matter.
“It will appear improper for me to comment on the issue of the match bonus when the report of the committee is still lying on the minister’s table,” he said.
