LG Boss Assures On Electrification Of Communities

The Chairman of Etche Local Government Council of Rivers State, Hon Reginald Ukwuoma, has reiterated his earlier resolution to provide electricity to all the communities in his local government area.

Speaking with newsmen in Port Harcourt last Thursday; shortly after the presentation of the book, Eminent Persons in Rivers State” written by Rivers State Newspaper Corporation, the chairman said that he would only count himself as an accomplished council boss, if all the communities in Etche are connected to the national grid.

Ukwuoma, was of the view that power supply in rural areas was the best thing to do inorder to bridge the gap between rural and urban settings.

He hinted that he had gone more than half way to achieve the target, but did not say how soon it would be completed.

The Etche Council boss, also informed that his administration will ensure the completion of all projects it started inorder to bring the dividend of democracy closer to the people.

Our reporter, gathered that the electrification project by the council boss, was one of his prime targets, due to the level of attention given to it.
