Lawyer Docked For Assault, Malicious Damage

A 50-year-old legal
practitioner in the state, Barr Godwin Moses has been arraigned before a Port Harcourt Chief Magistrate Court for an alleged assault and malicious damage offences on charge number PMC/958c/12.
The accused Barr Godwin Moses, 50, is standing trial on a three count charge of assult and malicious damage before Chief Magistrate E.C. Woke.
The Police prosecution told the court that the accused on the 12th of March, 2012 at Ogbogbo Polo Community, Borikiri, Port Harcourt, in Port Harcourt Magisterial District, did threaten to kill one Tamunopekerebia Ibisie Amamie.
The prosecution also alleged that the accused on the same date and place in the aforesaid magisterial district willfully damaged Tamuno’s house protector valued at N30,000 only.
He further alleged that the accused did assault one Tamunopekerebia Ibisie Amamie by pushing him down, adding that the accused committed an offence punishable under section 86, 451 and 351 of the criminal code cap 37 vol. 11 laws of Rivers State of Nigeria 1999.
The accused pleaded not guilty of all the charges brought against him.
The presiding Chief Magistrate E.C. Woke, admitted him to bail with the sum of one hundred thousand naira (N100,000) with one surety, who must produce four passport photographs while his address is to be verified by the court Police prosecutor.
The surety will also swear an affidavit of means and later adjourned the case to 13th November 2013.
