Kung-Fu Federation Plans Training For Athletes, Coaches

Kung-fu Federation (NWKF) says it has concluded arrangements to hold a one week technical training course for instructors, coaches, elite athletes, referees course/examination as well as Duan system grading and national open championship.
The Head of Department (HOD) Coaching, Rivers State Sports Council, Evangelist Ezekiel Ordu, who disclosed this in an exclusive interview with Tide Sports yesterday in Port Harcourt, said the event is expected to take place between October 27 to November 3, this year.
According to him, the programme is scheduled to hold at the media centre and indoor Sports Hall, National Stadium Complex, Surulere, Lagos State.
Also speaking, the Secretary General of the NWKF, Jideonwo George said that the training course and championship is aimed at updating the coaches/instructors, referees and athletes on the latest international Wushu Federation rules and regulations.
George who made this known in a press release stated that coaches and referees are expected to come with track-suit, canvas shoes, kung-fu uniform and officials uniform for the events.
He also said that athletes are expected to come with their official uniform approved by the Federation.
The NWKF scribe, noted that only participation in Nigeria Wushu-Kung-fu Federation organized course/workshops, and approved events would be used during National Sports Festival and other national competitions.
He maintained that the activities are strictly for Wushu-Kung-Fu practitioners, saying that, the Duan System grading is for Brown and Black Belters only.
Grading exercise is open to only Wushu-Kung-Fu practitioners, while the grading will be conducted from Brown Belt to the Black Belt degree.”
The statement added that the Armed Forces, Police and paramilitary services, clubs are also invited to participate in the programme, adding that participants would be responsible for their accommodation and feeding.
