Glo League: 3SC Battles Relegation
A former General Man
ager of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, Mutiu Adepoju, has described the likely relegation of the club in the ongoing season as sad.
Adepoju made the remark in an interview with newsmen in Lagos on telephone.
The Ibadan side is currently rooted to the bottom of the Globacom Premier League (GPL) standings with 40 points from the 35 matches they have played.
The former 3SC helmsman wondered at how the club suddenly found itself in relegation waters, considering their illustrious pedigree in the country’s football circle.
“Its sad that 3SC are in this mess, honestly I don’t know how they got there, it’s shocking. I cannot fathom how things got to this level.
“With less than three matches to go, it will take a miracle; I sincerely wish they will get out of the demotion predicament,’’ Adepoju said.
On what could have gone wrong with the club in terms of quality, the former Racing de Santander FC of Spain midfielder stressed that there was no mass exodus of players.
“Most of the players I left there last season are still there, so I don’t know what seem not to be working for them.
“They made just a few infusion into the team, with three matches left they might pull a stunt, never say never,’’ the former general manager added.
The GPL 2012/2013 season has three more matches to go and 3SC are poised to battle for all the points at stake to stave off relegation.
