Fun Times At Silver Bird Cinemas …As Children Celebrate Independence With Star Series

Nigeria’s 53rd Independence Anniversary turned out to be a memorable celebration for the children who were opportuned to attend the 3rd edition of Ostyles Stars Series  held at the silver birds premises, former Obi Wali Cultural Centre, along Abonnema Wharf Road Port Harcourt.
The children played together, sang danced, watched the funny jokes of comedians and clowns as well as other side attractions. According to the organiser of the event, Mr. Ockiya, Orise Ostyles, startimes is an outfit from silver bird entertainment to celebrate the children and their various talents.
He noted that the event also gives the children opportunity to celebrate their birthday at a particular month of the year and children born in the month’s of September and October cut their birthday cake at the event.
The coordinator stressed that the children decided to celebrate the green white green because at 53 and beyond, Nigeria still has a lot of positive development to offer.
He contended that the organisation also gives awards of honour and recognition to distinguished personalities who have contributed to child education, fight against child abuse enforcement of the child right Act as well as others who have affected the lives of the children positively.
According to him, the award is conferred on recipients every 27th of May which is also celebrated annually as the children’s’ day.  He said so far, Dame Alice Lawrence Nemi, the Rivers State Commissioner for education as one of the recipients of the award while others are being considered.
Miss Patience Amadi one of the participants in the dancing competition who spoke on behalf of the other children thanked organizers for coming up with such entertaining annual event which brings children from all parts of the state together. According to her it is usually fun times at star times and we look forward to it every year.
