FAAN Manager Sues For Airports Safety, Health

eral Manager, South-South/South East of the Federal Airpot Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Port Harcourt Airport, Mrs. Ebele Okoye has advised all users of the airport to be safety conscious and pay adequate attention to matters affecting their health.
Mrs Okoye expressed this at the meeting of Safety and Health Committee of the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa, recently.
The committee, made up of members drawn from the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, Nigerian Airspace Management Agency, Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, Port Health and Airport Car Hire Association of Nigeria in the airport is to ensure that the airport is neat and tidy at all times.
According to the zonal manager, the issue of a safe and healthy environment should not be relegated to the background especially as the airport users are Nigerians and foreigners alike who desire an environment that is neat and inviting.
She assured the committee that FAAN was ready to give its full support in the area of its operation to ensure the realization of their assignment.
Mrs Okoye noted that the Port Harcourt International Airport placed high premium on proper hygiene which would ensure that no epidemic is witnessed in the airport.
Speaking, the chairperson of the committee Dr Bolanle Olatunji, said the non chalant attitude of airport users with respect to safety, health and hygiene was the reason for setting up the committee, promising that with cooperation of all stakeholders the airport would be the first choice in the country.
